Slow Pitch Jigging In Boca Raton and Pompano Beach

We offer slow pitch jigging instructional trips. 6 hours on the water.

Instructions and Jigging will be covering everything from rigging, knots, positioning, fighting and gaffing. Finding fish on the sonar, setting up drifts, wrecks and reefs as well as open water. Dealing with current, wind and scope. Depths from 120' to 1000' depending on conditions.

Slow Pitch Jigging is the state-of-the-art jigging technique that has been spreading all around Japan and the United States and elevating the game of jigging to another dimension. The concept and technique have been presented by a man named Norihiro Sato.

Five years ago, hardly anyone in the States had heard of slow pitching. In fact, the technique itself hasn’t been around much longer than that. It was first developed in Japan by a deep-water angler called Norihiro Sato. He was looking for a way to target fish even when they weren’t actively feeding. What he ended up with was one of the most effective techniques ever invented.

The fundamental difference between slow pitch and regular jigging is how your “bait” behaves. You’re not imitating a fish trying to escape – this would be too much effort for a resting fish to bother with. Instead, you use small, precise movements to mimic a wounded fish trying and failing to swim away from the seafloor. It’s an easy snack that even the laziest Grouper can’t resist. Sato completely rewrote the rules when making this technique. Anglers weren’t limited by the fish’s feeding times anymore. They didn’t need any bait or chum to attract deep-water bottom fish. Instead, they were catching huge reef fish on tackle that looks too small for most freshwater species. And what’s more, they were doing it consistently at any time of day.

We have wrecks and reefs all over. You will have a chance to grab Grouper, Snapper, AmberJack, Tuna, Wahoo, King and more. If you have a little more experience and are interested in targeting Golden Tile, Queen Snapper, some of the larger deeper grouper or even a swordfish, we can get you on the spots. We have water depths ranging from 0 to 2000' within 10 miles of the dock. That means we have tons of options.

We have some very specialized Slow Pitch Jigging gear or you are welcome to bring your own rods tackle. We can also get you started with some pointers if you have never tried Slow Pitch Jigging.

Slow Pitch Jigging Charters are dependent on wind and current, so if conditions are not ideal we offer other options.
